Behind the Scenes of HACCP Accreditation at Springroll Gold
At Springroll Gold, ensuring that our customers receive the highest quality spring rolls is our top priority. For over 20 years we’ve proudly maintained HACCP accreditation, demonstrating our commitment to food safety and quality control at every step of our production process.
But what exactly is HACCP, and why is it important for our spring rolls and our customers? Let’s take a closer look.
What is HACCP Accreditation?
HACCP, which stands for Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points, is an internationally recognised system that helps food businesses identify and manage food safety risks. Its main goal is to ensure that potential hazards are controlled at every stage of the production process, from sourcing ingredients to packaging the final product.
By adhering to HACCP standards, food manufacturers can provide reassurance to customers that the products they purchase are safe to eat.
HACCP accreditation involves thorough audits conducted by external experts to verify that the processes in place are capable of managing potential risks effectively. This proactive approach to food safety is crucial, as it not only helps prevent contamination but also ensures that all food products meet stringent quality standards.
What does HACCP mean for us at Springroll Gold?
At Springroll Gold, our HACCP accreditation demonstrates our commitment to food safety and quality. We adhere to strict and rigorous food safety protocols, and our production facility here in Far North Queensland is externally audited every 12 months. These audits focus heavily on the traceability and quality of our ingredients, ensuring that we meet or exceed industry standards.
To maintain our high standards, we conduct microbiological testing on our products, as well as on the water and environmental surfaces of our processing facility, three times a year. This regular testing ensures that our spring rolls are produced in a clean and safe environment, minimising the risk of contamination and maintaining product integrity.
How does our HACCP Program incorporate local farmers and produce?
Our HACCP program covers all aspects of food safety and quality, concentrating on traceability, temperature controls, and the quality of inputs. Traceability is key in ensuring that each ingredient in our spring rolls can be traced back to its source, providing transparency and accountability throughout the supply chain.
We adhere to an Approved Supplier program, which guarantees that the ingredients we use are grown, harvested, and produced under the strictest food safety guidelines.
During the production process, we monitor temperatures and quality for every batch of spring rolls we make. This ensures that each product meets our standards for safety, flavour, and consistency. With such rigorous controls in place, our customers can be confident that they are receiving a product that is not only delicious but also safe and of the highest quality.
What does our HACCP Accreditation mean for our customers?
